Weekend Fam Goals: Family River Rafting | 5 Things You Need To Know

This weekend's adventure -- family river rafting! Its been a while since I've been rafting but with the soaring heat this weekend, it was a perfect time to take the entire family to visit Delaware River Tubing in Milford, New Jersey. Here are 5 things you need to know before you book an excursion:

Book Online: Go early, it's the best way to enjoy your trip and avoid the crowds at check-in.
Gear: Bring water shoes. It's super helpful to have them on when you want to hop out at the rest stops or go for a swim. Although they do sell them there, they're a bit pricer. Also, make sure to wear a swim suit and pack everything in water proof bags.
What's included? Every tube, raft (2, 4, 6 person rafts available), canoe or kayak rental includes lunch from The Famous River Hot Dog Man in the middle of your journey down the river. Lunch includes: 2 hot dogs or hamburger, chips and drink with your all-inclusive wristband.
Pack Snacks: Feel free to pack your own goodies! The entire trip down the river took about 4hrs with a few resting spots in between so packing extra water, drinks and snack in a cooler is definitely a great idea.
You're On Your Own: For the most part, you and your group will be on your own as far as carrying all of your gear and float/raft to the river (once you're dropped off at the starting point on the river). It can be a little challenging if you're bringing too much gear and plan to go rafting. Personally, we didn't mind at all! It was nice to be able to move freely through our trip and plan our day in a way that worked best for us.
