Where young surviors & fighters tell their stories. Repost from Wild Fire Magazine: @wildfire_bc_magazine on Instagram |
Can you imagine being a young newlywed wanting to start a family, working for one of the most amazing companies in the world, Walt Disney World — no family history of cancer and then one day receiving that devastating diagnosis?
October, of course, is breast cancer awareness month so with the end of the month quickly approaching, I wanted to share my experience when I was recently invited by RWJ Barnabas Health and Saint Barnabas Health in partnership with NJMOM to view a striking exhibit showcasing survivor stories.

As I visited the exhibit, I quickly became aware that this display wasn’t a sad or melancholy memorial but a tribute to these loving, beautiful, courageous and heroic women who are true inspirations. Women who continue to live their lives spreading awareness and hope for a cure one day.

Tricia Russo, is one of these women and her journey to overcoming so many obstacles to become a mother is heartbreaking and moving, but above all; she is truly inspirational. She is a warrior and she continues to fight.

Her recently released documentary, Love Always, Mom, takes us through her journey of starting a family despite her infertility.

I don't know Tricia, but I admire her strengh so much. I'd like to think that I would be as strong...
If you have experienced cancer in your life or a loved one, I encourage you to help Tricia raise awareness and funding to change metastatic cancer from a terminal disease to one that can be managed with treatment.
Thank you so much for reading.
